Complete the following:
- Add a hit counter to the bottom of your home page.
- To add a hit counter
- Place your
cursor where you would like the hit counter to be
- click
Insert > Web component > Hit counter > choose the style you want on the right
> Finish > OK.
NOTE: you will not see the actual hit counter until you
save and preview your page in the web browser.
- Add a marquee to the following pages: primates, reptiles, bears, wild
cats, African savanna, polar house, bird house.
- To add a marquee
- Cut your
sentence that you wrote off of the page.
- Place your
cursor where the sentence used to be
- click
Insert > Web component > Dynamic effects > Marquee > Finish
- Retype your
sentence in the text box at the top of the new window
- Choose a
behavior from the behavior box
- To change
the look of the font click Style > Format > Font > Change the way you want the
font to look and press OK
- Choose a
background color from the lower right hand corner and the press OK.
NOTE: Your marquee will not scroll on the page until you save
and preview your page in the web browser.
- Add a page transition to the following pages: primates, reptiles, bears,
wild cats, African savanna, polar house, bird house.
- To add a page transition
- click
Format > Page transitions
- Choose a
transition style from the right hand side of the window and click OK.
NOTE: You will see the page transition when you save the page
and are coming to the page on the internet.
- Add 1 external link on every animal page that will take the person to
another website to learn more information about the animal.
- To add an external link
- First, find
a website that has information about the specific animal on the page you are
working on.
- Copy the
entire web address of page you found.
- On your
animals web page, Place your cursor underneath the picture of your animal.
- Type this
sentence: Learn more about the "ANIMALS NAME" here.

Highlight the entire sentence with your mouse.
- Right click
on the highlighted sentence and click Hyperlink
- Paste the
web address that you copied into the address box at the bottom of the page.
- click OK
NOTE: Your text should change colors and become underlined.
Save your page and preview it in the browser. If you did this correctly, you
should be able to click on the link and it should take you to the website you
found with info about your animal.
- Add the date to the bottom of the home page.
- To add the date
- Place your
cursor at the bottom of your home page
- click
Insert > Date and Time
- make sure
the circle in front of "Date this page was last edited" is selected
- Choose a
Date Format
- Choose a
Time Format if you would like (NOT REQUIRED)
- click OK
NOTE: Inserting the date this way, instead of just typing it,
ensures that the date will automatically update every time you edit the page.
This lets people know if the website is old or kept up to date.
